I've used Bosch power tools for years, but I also have Makita power tools I like. One of my favorite Bosch tools is my trusty old demolition saw - a tool that always comes in very handy - which still works great after 30-years. I also have Bosch screw guns and other Bosch power tools, but it just happens I like some Makita tools. One of my newest is the Makita HP2050 hammer drill that is more than capable of using this Bosch "Blue Granite" bit kit (and up to 3/4-inch bit size). I bought the Makita because I knew what it would do, and because I have a Makita 600 rpm reversible 1/2-inch drill and a large Makita sander polisher that still run great after over 30-years of using both of them - haven't even had to replace a cord on either of them.
Yes, I like tough tools I can rely on - and Bosch makes some really good ones. Not only does Bosch make good power tools, they also make good hand and machine accessory tools. Did I buy this hammer drill set because of the name? You betcha! But, I also bought these bits because I knew what they are capable of. At any price point, these Bosch Blue Granite bits last very well in their intended use, and they are a deal simply because the outlast other bits in the same category. It's how much longer they last over others that makes them a great deal - and a great time saver. These bits undergo precise heat treating of Bosch alloys, and the carbide tips also undergo a special process in how they are attached. This attention to detail means they far outlast other brands.
At twelve inches of length, this 5/8-inch carbide tipped bit offers about 10-11 inches of penetration - not quite as deep as I would need for a single pass on some walls, but enough once I use a smaller longer bit I have had for years.... Read more ›
