Shield is too short

I purchased this shield with the intention to use with metal cut-off wheel. As you can see in the picture I have posted above, the shield is too short to block any flying debris when use with Keyless chuck. If I remove the keyless chuck and use the standard chuck, it bring the cutting wheel about 1/4" under the shield. Not enough protection in my opinion.
