I used these belts on a Ryobi sander as an intermediate step prior to varnish after using the 40 grit belts to remove tile mastic from fir stair treads. The paper has been bullet proof (no delamination or splitting) even when abused with heat (long run time) and nail heads. The grit has shed the sawdust and stays on the paper even when cleaned with a file brush. I found I could extend the life of this belt for a dozen stair treads when the Home Repo brand was lasting for less than four. My wife has discovered the belt sander and has declared it her favorite tool - 'cuz this belt is painless.
