Good bits for dowel joinery

I have much better luck getting accurate diameter holes with these than I do with regular drill bits. Plus the point makes it very easy to ensure your hole is located exactly where you want it. They like to grab and pull into the wood though, so if your hole isn't going through it's best to use a drill press, otherwise it's easy to go too deep. I use these for dowel joinery.
