I'm new to soldering/electronics and bought this along with several other soldering related tools. It works, but not nearly as well as I see in various videos online. And I've played with the iron temperature. It just seems like solder isn't that interested in soaking into the braid.
I've heard that you should use desoldering braid with flux on/in it and maybe this doesn't have that? Perhaps if I ran my flux pen on it before I tried to suck up solder it would help? Or maybe the solder I've tried to suck up isn't of good quality? I really don't know.
All in all, it does work. Just not really well.
