I bought these bits to drill holes in 1/8" stained glass. I had a really hard time learning how to use them without the diamond coating burning off or tips breaking. I originally left a negative review and hopefully it wasn't up long enough to do any harm. I believe I have finally learned to use them through a lot of trial and even more error. No matter what method you use, always keep in mind that these are really thin delicate bits and they don't put up with much abuse.
When using these bits with the Dremel and drill press I had horrible luck. Most of the instructions I've read say to drill glass at really slow rpms and hold the drill completely straight (thus the drill press).
I finally settled on drilling on high speed, holding the Dremel in hand rather than using a drill press, and building a dam of water with plumbers putty. I began starting the holes at an angle. While holding the drill in my hand I am able to just barely and carefully move the drill around just enough to sort of ream out the sides of the hole. I have had luck with holding the Dremel back just enough to "almost" let its own weight do the work. I fill the water-dam with a straw, dipped in a jar which has just a drop or two of dish washing liquid mixed with the water.
I hope this review might help someone else who isn't "handy" avoid breaking as many bits as I did.
